ICT Peer Coaching

This internationally accredited professional development program helps schools create engaging, technology-rich learning activities for students. It is available as a three face-to-face day seminar, with two additional online sessions leading to certification as a Peer Coach Facilitator. The Peer Coaching Program trains teacher-leaders to help colleagues identify ways that technology can strengthen the classroom curriculum and enhance students' academic achievements. It also trains them to help colleagues develop the skills and instructional strategies to integrate technology into teaching and learning.

Sydney: 21st – 23rd March, 2012
Brisbane: 28th – 30th March, 2012

The School Principal should attend the first morning of the Peer Coaching Course (9am-1pm) to ensure understanding of Peer Coaching as a vehicle for professional learning in schools. It is strongly recommended that 2 people per school attend the course to increase the likelihood of successfully implementing Peer Coaching upon your return. This also increases the ability to scale the program by having two accredited Peer Coaching Facilitators on your staff.

Benchmark your ICT against other non-government schools

You are invited to participate in some important new research into ICT in Catholic and Independent Schools, managed by Computelec – believed to be the first Australian study of its kind. The survey and report are being co-authored by respected ICT education experts:

  • Travis Smith, National Manager, Expanding Learning Horizons
  • Bruce Dixon, President, Anywhere, Anytime Learning Foundation
  • Darryl Watson, Manager ICT Operations, All Saints College, WA

We’re examining how ICT has been used in schools during 2011 – and predictions and plans for 2012. The resultant report will provide in-depth analysis of key issues facing education environments today and trends for the future, including:

  • Resources committed to delivering IT in schools
  • Challenges in integrating mobile devices
  • Student computer policy
  • Control over the use of social media and the Internet
  • Correlations between schools by size and region

"Personally, I think this is a fantastic initiative as it will enable us all to see how we compare to what everyone else is doing." Darryl Watson, Manager ICT Operations, All Saints College, WA

All participating schools will receive an advance copy of the report early next year.

We’d appreciate it if you could take just 10-12 minutes to respond to our questionnaire. Note that individual responses will be kept confidential and no schools identified in the report.

Thank you in anticipation of your contribution to this important study and, if you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
