Microsoft Education Seminars – Building Skills for Tomorrow

Technology is transforming the world that today's students will inherit faster than we can transform their classrooms. To help primary and secondary school teachers lead the change, Microsoft is equipping them with new skills and supporting them to embed new ways of teaching into their schools so that they can help colleagues use technology as a tool to improve learning outcomes.

Microsoft are offering 2hr seminars, facilitated by experiences educators from Expanding Learning Horizons, that explore the technologies and learning techniques that help students develop the skills they need for tomorrow. These seminars are free to attend.

Leading Contemporary Learning in a Technology-Rich World

The 1-to-1 Journey Conference now in its third year, is a two day intensive workshop running across Australia, designed to address the issues imperative to decision makers when considering adopting or in the process of implementing a 1-to-1 technology program.

The conference will discuss the educational imperative to move toward 1-to-1 classrooms and the impact that every child having their own device can have on the curriculum opportunities for students. It will delve into issues associated with funding and how to establish a long-term sustainable program, and will also look at higher level strategic considerations that can make or break a 1-to-1 program, talk about how to develop effective policies and discuss emerging trends leaders need to be aware of for future planning. The program also includes a joint case study with a Computelec and a school who have recently implemented a 1-to-1 student notebook program. There are also a number of curriculum-based, hands-on workshops throughout the program including animation for the classroom and Microsoft OneNote for powerful collaboration, designed to give teachers some new and exciting ideas for the classroom.

The 1-to-1 Journey Conference is designed for Principals, Deputy Principals, Directors of ICT, Teachers and Learning Technology Coordinators. Schools are encouraged to bring small teams of staff to develop a shared vision for the future of learning for their students and begin working towards implementation.
