Capped Repair Program


Computelec Capped Repair Program is a 3 year maintenance program that protects your school’s and student’s Tablet PCs and Notebooks.

Our Capped Repair Program is included with every Tablet PC and Notebook purchased through Computelec’s Freedom to Learn Program.

The Tablet PC or Notebook is also covered by the standard manufacturer’s warranty against any parts that fail during normal operation.

BENEFITS OF COMPUTELEC CAPPED REPAIR PROGRAM

  • Our Capped Repair Program protects the Tablet PC or Notebook against accidental damage.
  • The period of the Capped Repair Program protection is 3 years. This commences from the date of invoice of the Tablet PC or Notebook.
  • The Capped Repair Program protection offers a $100.00 capped repair fee for repairs not covered under your standard manufacturer’s warranty.
  • In the event of accidental damage, the Tablet PC or Notebook should be returned to Computelec. Computelec will quote for repairs and commit that the quote for repair will not exceed $100.00 inclusive of GST for “each and every incident of repair”. Repairs that are to be less than $100.00 inclusive of GST will be charged at the quoted rate inclusive of GST. Repairs will commence upon acceptance of the quote and advance payment.
  • When repairing a Tablet PC or Notebook Computelec will replace parts with new or used parts from the original manufacturer or a different one as determined by Computelec at its sole and reasonable discretion. In the event that Computelec nominate that it is necessary to replace a Tablet PC or Notebook rather than repair it, a Tablet PC or Notebook of the equivalent specification to the Tablet PC or Notebook that was originally purchased from Computelec, either new or used, as determined by Computelec at its sole and reasonable discretion.

*Each and every incident of repair – in the event on one repair multiple parts are required from one incident, one capped repair fee is required. In the event on one repair multiple parts are required from multiple incidents, each incident will require payment up to $100.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED?

  • The cost of replacing expendable parts such as batteries and fuses.
  • Peripheral devices such as but not limited to; docking stations, external USB devices, printers, external speakers, game devices, carrying cases, monitors, external mouse and external keyboard and other components not internal to the Tablet PC or Notebook.
  • Replacement of components worn out through normal operation or gradual wear and tear.
  • Minor damage that is cosmetic in nature and does not affect the Tablet PC or Notebook functionality such as surface scratches, minor dents, minor cracks or discolouration.
  • The replacement of covers due to stickers being placed on the Tablet PC or Notebook.
  • Consequential loss – for example, the loss of computer records/information/data held on the system.
  • Any recovery or transfer of data stored on the Tablet PC or Notebook. Staff and or Students are solely responsible for all data stored on the Tablet PC or Notebook. Computelec does not provide any data recovery services under this agreement.
  • Repairs required due to malicious or intentional damage to the Tablet PC or Notebook.
  • A Tablet PC or Notebook that was repaired or attempted to be repaired by someone other than Computelec or a Computelec authorised representative. Any repair or attempted repair on the Tablet PC or Notebook by any party not authorised by Computelec will void and cancel the Capped Repair Program agreement. Computelec will not reimburse the owner for, or make good any repairs that you or another unauthorised repairer make.

PRECAUTIONS

The owner of the machine must take all reasonable precautions to prevent damage and to comply with the manufacturers recommendations relating to the safeguarding and operation of the Tablet PC or Notebook. Repairs required without exercising reasonable precautions could see repair costs exceed $100.00. This is determined by Computelec at its sole and reasonable discretion.
